Spastic Society of Jorhat.

Established in the year 1992, 'PRERONA' is a non-government organisation , registered under Society Registration Act, 1860 No. 4077/1991-92 .  Prerona is registered under FCRA, No. 020830020.   Affiliated to Indian Institute of Cerebral Palsy, Calcutta .

AIMS & OBJECTIVES :

Prerona is an educational day center for children with disabilities . It aims at developing their maximum potential-physical, emotional and intellectual. PRERONA makes all efforts to tender the disabled children useful and self reliant- its motto being "TO MEET THE CHALLENGE OF LIFE" . in brief the aims and  objectives are -

*     To teach the children the fundamental of a good life.
*     To prepare the children to play a positive rolls in life.
*     To run a day care centre to provide all round educational facilities to disabled
       children.
*     To provide physio therapy, speech therapy, functional therapy to rehabilitate
       the disabled children.
*     To run a vocational unit to facilitate the rehabilitation of the children.
*     To organise seminar, workshop etc. for creating awareness among the members
       of  the public.
*     To encourage and motivate people from community for active participation in
       the rehabilitation process by expanding our service.

DAGAON CHILD WELFARE CENTRE

The Dagaon child welfare centre adopted the scheme for welfare of children in need of care and projection in the year 1975 with 25 orphan children. The institution has its own land and building . The institution was registered in the year 1960-61. At present there are 25 nos of children, both boys and girls. The orphan children are collected from different corners of Assam . The age group of children are 4 to 14 years. Special care has been taken for welfare of their health and education. For their  physical and mental upliftment, special care has been taken from the organisation. The managing committee consists of 28 members, both male and female. Deputy Commissioner, Jorhat is the chief adviser of the organisation.

At present , institute is going through lot of problem as it has not received any grant from Government for long . Now it is run completely on donations from various institutions and common public and help by different NGOs . At present food stuff is supplied by the Rotary Club, Jorhat chapter.
