WORLD THRIFT DAY AT JORHAT
In 1924 in Milan city of Itally first international Savings Bank Congress was held. On the concluding day of the congress, World Thrift Days was decided to be observed. In India National Savings Organisation celebrated World Thrift Day on 30th October at the State/Regional level. Other financial institutions like UTI, LICI and Nationalised Banks also participated in the finction. The best agents in all schemes, best Pay Rol Savings Groups, best Sanchayika at the National/State level are awarded prizes in the function.
